Working Groups

To realise its vision and framework, the Foundation convened two working groups: the Attributes Working Group and the Solutions & Adaptation Working Group. These two groups have been central to the identification and development of the projects within the Foundation’s Research Portfolio. These working groups are made up of individuals who are expert in their fields, many of whom are internationally recognised for their expertise.

Attributes of a Resilient Reef Working Group

This Working Group developed a list of key attributes of a reef that is biophysically, socially and economically viable in the face of climate change. With this knowledge in hand, the sustainability of all coral reefs can be assessed to determine their resilience to climate change.

Solutions and Adaptations Working Group

A key step in acheiving the Vision is the identification of mechanisms by which reefs adapt to climate change, as well as implementation of innovative solutions (biophysical, social and economic) to combat the impacts/threats of climate change. The expertise brought together in this Working Group is diverse and represents a unique and ground-breaking approach to dealing with the threat of climate change on coral reefs.
