After a successful leather bag charm capsule that launched in 2016, OROTON will launch their second design collaboration in support of the Great Barrier Reef Foundation. This year, Australia’s iconic accessories brand has created a limited-edition canvas and leather applique zip clutch inspired by the Reef’s striking beauty and unique underwater landscape.
Launching as part of a wider best-selling canvas collection, the clutch is offered in a textural canvas with either a cobalt or black leather applique dotted with rounded gold stud. The striking design perfectly aligns with OROTON’s signature relaxed, modern, and luxurious aesthetic.
The Australian lifestyle brand is pleased to announce it will donate 100% of profits from all sales of both styles of the Coral Clutch to The Great Barrier Reef Foundation, in support of the important scientific research they undertake in order to preserve one of the world’s seven natural wonders.
The Great Barrier Reef is under threat from climate change, poor water quality due to run off, coastal development and illegal fishing. The Foundation is uniquely placed to the lead the collaboration of scientists, Reef managers, business, government and philanthropists to develop the knowledge and solutions needed to protect and restore our precious Reef for future generations.
Oroton CEO Ross Lane says “We are proud to be working with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation for the second year running with the release of our limited-edition canvas pouches inspired by the beauty of the Reef. We continue to celebrate and support the preservation of this iconic landmark and are thrilled by the huge support the Oroton customer shows towards our collaborative collections with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.”
Anna Marsden, Managing Director of the Great Barrier Reef Foundation says the Foundation is delighted to be partnering with the prestigious brand for a second time.
“The Great Barrier Reef is such an inspiring and beautiful treasure, so to have a uniquely Australian brand like Oroton inspired to create a beautiful clutch that will benefit the Reef couldn’t be more perfect,” Ms Marsden said.
“It’s no secret that our Great Barrier Reef is facing more than its share of challenges right now. The good news is some of the best and brightest minds in marine science are working on new and innovative ways to protect it. As the charity for the Great Barrier Reef, the Foundation is at the forefront of funding projects grounded in science, technology, engineering and on-ground action to ensure its long-term future.”
“Our current projects include restoring the whole ecosystem that supports the world’s largest green turtle rookery and major seabird nesting site through the Raine Island Recovery Project, and developing the world-first RangerBot, an autonomous underwater vehicle that can not only identify and kill the coral-destroying crown-of-thorns starfish, but also identify early signs of coral distress and bleaching, and capture important ocean measurements. The funds raised through this partnership with Oroton will contribute to these and other pioneering projects the Foundation is developing to help keep the Reef great.”
Oroton’s two-piece resort canvas capsule conjures the laidback luxury of Australia’s summer season with a nautical theme inspired by sailing cloths on boats. Beachside holidays, weekends away and summer gatherings that make the most of our beautiful coastal lifestyle are all encapsulated in the classic canvas and leather collection. From roomy oversized totes injected with navy or white stripes and covetable tan leather trim, to zip pouches that hold all the essentials to the Coral clutch with its beautiful organic design, the canvas collection captures summer’s simple luxury.
OROTON’s Coral Clutch will be available in stores nationally and online from 8 November RRP $140 AUD with 100% of profits donated to The Great Barrier Reef Foundation.
