Five fascinating facts about Heart Reef

Heart Reef was discovered in 1975 by an Air Whitsunday pilot.

The best view of Heart Reef is from the air – by plane or helicopter – because you can’t swim or dive or visit by boat due to its highly protected status.

It’s located in Hardy Reef in the Whitsundays, approximately 60 km from the mainland.
