David Thodey AO is a visionary business leader known for his commitment to innovation, technology and value creation in Australia. With more than 50 years’ leadership experience including as CEO of Telstra and IBM Australia & New Zealand he has helped shape industries and build lasting institutions. Now Chancellor of the University of Sydney, David also chairs Xero and Ramsay Health Care, and serves on the Reserve Bank of Australia Governance Board.

His previous roles include Chair of CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency, and Tyro, the country’s largest independent payments company. A Member of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering, he continues to play an active role in shaping public policy and advancing technology in Australia. David holds three Honorary Doctorates and remains a powerful voice for ethical, inclusive innovation.
