
Dr Katherine Woodthorpe AO
Director
Dr Woodthorpe is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and President of the Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering. She holds a PhD in Chemistry and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Technology Sydney. In 2017, she received an Order of Australia for her ongoing service to research and technology innovation in Australia.
With a strong track record in technology-driven industries, her expertise spans medical devices,clean energy, governance, leadership and the innovation sector. She has been Chair of the Bushfires and Natural Hazards CRC, the Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems CRC and the HEARing CRC and a director of several other organisations, including Sirtex Ltd, ARENA. Previously she served as Chief Executive of the Australian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association, which represents the venture capital industry.
Currently, Dr Woodthorpe is the President of the global Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences and Chair of Cicada Innovations, as well as a Director for Bioplatforms and Anteotech. She previously chaired the National Climate Science Advisory Committee and was cited in 2023 and 2024 as one of “The List: Green Power Players”.
